So you’ve chosen to erect a post-frame building on your property. You may have an idea already of what size or configuration you need. What about the color? After all, the choice of color can have a significant impact on the look of the finished building, and how well it will blend in with other buildings and the property as a whole.

Most of the time, pole barns follow a dual color scheme, with the walls one color and a contrasting color for the roof and the trim or wainscot. While this may be traditional, it’s not the only configuration possible. You may find you like the look of a monochrome pole barn with walls, roof, and trim all one color. You may choose to use three colors: one for walls, one for the roof, and a third color for any trim and wainscot. The only rule is…there are no rules!

Factors to Consider

There are many elements to consider when choosing colors for your pole barn. Are you a traditionalist? You may want to stick to traditional colors. What will the building be used for? If you’re building a barn and you want it to say “barn,” consider choosing a traditional red. Are you trying to match the building to its surroundings? Then you may wish to choose the same color scheme as the other buildings in the vicinity, or even the landscape.

A Tool to Help You Choose Your Color

Sometimes, it’s hard to picture how the finished product will look. After all, seeing colors on swatches isn’t the same as seeing the color on a finished building. At CHA Pole Barns, we offer a barn color modeler that will help you plan the color scheme of your pole building including the roof, siding, doors, trim, and wainscot. Using the modeler, you’ll be able to visualize how your pole barn, storage shed, or pole building will look with the color you have chosen. It will help you make better decisions on the colors to ensure that your finished building fits in well with your landscape and meets your expectations.

We offer a variety of colors for our pole barn buildings, including charcoal, ivory, stone, crimson red, and evergreen. Plan a design for a pole barn kit you can build yourself or let our team of expert carpenters erect your pole building to ensure the highest quality construction possible.

Offering service throughout the mid-Atlantic region, CHA Pole Barns can handle large and small pole barn construction projects in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, and West Virginia.
